Welcome to Newsletter Ease
Introducing Newsletter
Ease
Congratulations
on selecting Newsletter Ease, publishing and communication
software
for the Internet.
We
recommend that you take a few minutes to look over the Initial
Setup and
Quick
Tour information to help
you get started. This tour demonstrates how
each
element of the software interacts and will help you achieve your
goals sooner
with
Newsletter Ease.
What Newsletter Ease
Can Do For You
Newsletter
Ease helps you use your existing email account to send out colorful
email
communications such as newsletters, announcements, and greeting
cards.
If
you own a Web site, you might also choose to take advantage of
the calendar
feature
in Newsletter Ease, which you can then upload to your Web site
to keep
everyone
in step.
You
might be relieved to find that Newsletter Ease does not require
you to have
any
experience with Web publishing. The software makes it easy to
produce
professional-looking
content without requiring a great deal of expertise. So, relax
-
you can get started with Newsletter Ease in minutes.
If
you own a Web site, you've probably invested a lot of time and
money creating
a
Web site with a look that reflects just the right tone. When you
use Newsletter
Ease,
your communications can go out with the same look and feel as
your Web
site
- why find ways to bring people to your Web site when you can
bring your
Web
site to them. Your audience
will recognize the look of what you send, which
helps
you to further your investment in your branding.
There
are two Newsletter Ease products. The higher end product, Premier,
broadens
your capability with subscriber management and a few other features.
Initial Set Up
When
you first open the Newsletter Ease, you'll see this window asking
you for
your
email address.

As
you create your publication to send with Newsletter Ease, it's
always a good
idea
to send a preview copy to yourself before you send it out to everyone
in your
list.
The email address that you provide here will be that preview email
address.
Newsletter
Ease does its best to scour your system and determine some of
the
initial
settings that you might use when sending email. The drop-down
box will
contain
any extra email addresses that Newsletter Ease finds if there
is more than
one.
If you don't see an email address,
that's okay - you'll just need to provide that
before
going forward.
Mailing
List Settings - all settings
related to the sending and retrieval of email.
Web
Site Settings - a facility
to enter FTP information, if you have a Web site
If
you don't know these settings, or you are uncomfortable entering
them; don't
worry.
Newsletter Ease comes with a Trial Mode, which allows
you to discover
the
software without the need to know your settings right away. While
in Trial
Mode,
you can send email 3 people at a time - just right for a simple
"getting
acquainted"
session.
The
navigational tree on the left side provides access to the main
features. Some
samples
already exist within Newsletter Ease to help you become familiar
with
the
capabilities that you'll enjoy.
Six
Main Application Areas

Publications
- each newsletter issue
you create resides here. You can create
your
own HTML, an attachment, or use a Template (see below).
Greeting
Cards - send an email Get
Well card, Birthday card, or other brief
communication.
Use built in templates or make your own cards.
Content
Bank - this is where all
content you create is stored for re-use across
Publications
and Issues.
Mailing
Lists - this is the list
of your newsletter subscribers for each of your
publications.
Create and manage groups within a mailing list. Here you can
manage
one or more mailing lists.
Calendars
- Newsletter Ease makes
it very easy to create and publish a calendar
of
events. Even if you do not have a Web site, you can still use
this area to publish
calendar
information into an Issue of your Publication.
Templates
- Create HTML e-mail, without
knowing anything about HTML.
Template
files consist of HTML files with a few special text tags to identify
where
your
content should be inserted. Newsletter Ease assembles all the
HTML behind
the
scenes, allowing you to concentrate on creating the content. Advanced
users
can
edit the HTML directly in an external editing tool.
